Yes. At Essjay Psychology, we deliver the same in-clinic therapy experience online, ensuring professional, personalised, and evidence-based care in every session.

Online therapy suits many people, including those in rural Victoria, busy professionals, parents, or anyone preferring the convenience and privacy of remote sessions.

We support a wide range of concerns including anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, life transitions, and more.

The assessment process typically takes place over several sessions. This may include an initial consultation, one or more assessment appointments, and a feedback session to discuss results and recommendations. The exact timeline can vary depending on your needs, but we’ll guide you through each step and ensure you understand what to expect.

Yes. EMDR is offered as a structured therapy program for individuals working through trauma or distressing experiences. If you’re interested, your psychologist will first assess whether EMDR is appropriate for your needs. If it’s a good fit, we’ll develop a treatment plan that includes preparation, EMDR sessions, and follow-up support. This ensures the process is paced appropriately and delivered with care by your psychologist.

We offer a free 10 minute phone consultation to help match you with a psychologist who fits your needs, preferences, and goals.

It’s important you feel comfortable and supported. If you feel the fit isn’t right, we can assist you in connecting with another psychologist.

Standard therapy sessions are typically 50 minutes long. Initial consultations and match-calls may vary in length.

Sessions are billed at $215 and run for 50–60 minutes and payment is required on the day of your session.

Yes. Essjay Psychology accepts referrals under the Medicare Better Access scheme for eligible clients. This allows you to claim rebates for a number of sessions per calendar year with a registered psychologist. Please ensure you have a valid referral from your GP or psychiatrist before booking.

Many private health funds offer rebates for psychology services, including online therapy. Coverage varies between providers and policies, so we recommend checking with your insurer to confirm your entitlements.

You can book online via our website or contact us directly for assistance. We offer flexible appointment times to suit your schedule

We require at least 48 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule an appointment without incurring a fee. Cancellations made within 48 hours of your session will be charged the full fee of $215. Please note that cancellation fees are not eligible for Medicare rebates or funding.

We understand that emergencies happen. If you need to cancel for a legitimate reason, please contact us as soon as possible. The clinic may consider waiving the cancellation fee or rescheduling your appointment at no extra cost. This is at the discretion of the clinic and depends on communication and circumstances.
